Club History

The purpose of the Triple T (Twin Town Twirlers) Square Dance Club is to encourage and enjoy square and round dancing, and to promote the spirit of friendship and understanding. The club was formed during the summer of 1960. Members live in all areas of the Minneapolis-St.Paul metropolitan area. The club dances were held in Minneapolis for a short time but for most of the past 40 years dances have been held in buildings in the Roseville school district. Most club dances are currently held at Roseville Area Middle School, 15 E. County Road B2 in Little Canada.

Virg Hintz, the club caller, cuer, and instructor for the first thirty years was a master of his craft. With the able assistance of his wife, Jessie, the club growth during their tenure was phenomenal. The club originated with the assistance of seven couples but started a new dancer program immediately and grew by leaps and bounds.

Since 1990 the club has not had an assigned caller but instead selects individual callers for the club dances. Dances are usually held on the fourth Saturday of each month September through May. Dance level is Mainstream with a Plus star tip at the end of the dance. Round dances are a part of the dance program.

Membership gradually decreased during the 1990s. In the fall of 1997 a revival program was begun and membership began to increase again.
.
The club is affiliated with the Square Dance Federation of Minnesota, Inc., abides by the Constitution and Bylaws of the Federation and the Bylaws of the Central East Region of the Federation. The club has been incorporated in the state of Minnesota for a number of years.

The government of the club is vested in an Executive Board elected by the general membership each April.
